Spare The Rod Spoil The Child

by Papa Riah, Spare The Rod Spoil The Child Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Spare The Rod Spoil The Child books, Spoiled children are a modern day scourge upon our culture. Look around and you will see them everywhere. The absence of strict parenting is becoming a real problem, one which has much bigger implications than just having your dinner ruined when a family with spoiled children is seated near you in a restaurant. No, the biggest problem is that spoiled children grow up to become troublesome, dysfunctional adults. You see them everywhere too: People with issues of entitlement, who were not taught how to be a responsible member of society as a child. Some well-meaning parents inadvertently end up raising spoiled children simply because they don’t know how not to. Don’t be that person – please! In this 17-chapter e-book, Papa Riah will show you how to raise well-behaved children who love and respect you. This can only be accomplished by being a loving, strict disciplinarian – and no, those are NOT mutually exclusive terms! Responsible parenting is not only your duty to everybody else in society, it is your duty to your children as well. Ignore the advice in this book at your kid’s own peril.

The Heart

by Roy F. Berina, The Heart Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download The Heart books, With the intolerable deterioration of our moral fabric, bringing us to the point that right is wrong and wrong is right, a dire necessity exists not only to curtail such regress but to set things on the proper course. The heart, which governs morality of human thought and action, is summoned to act as the guide out of this rut and onto the path of righteousness and fair treatment of each other. In the pursuit of truth and justice, the Moral Code, which is comprised of the Last Six Commandments, the "Friend" Rule, the Golden Rule, and the "Spare the Rod Spoil the Child" Rule, is therefore proposed as the "just" Rule of the Land. This then is utilized as the foundation to achieving morally correct conclusions or courses of action to social problems, issues or difficulties that we encounter, especially in these morally trying times. An important application of this concept is in our governance. The good heart has guided us to an amazing conclusion that the ideal form of government is that which is based on the Moral Code, the ideal Rule of the Land, and Participative Democracy, the ideal form of democracy which completely satisfies the requirements, of the people, by the people and for the people; rather than the form of government based on the Legal Code, a flawed and harmful code set, and Representative Democracy, a faulty, dangerous and costly imitation of Participative Democracy. We, the people, are therefore urged, by this revelation, to wake up from this detrimental governmental slumber and empower ourselves by declaring independence of the current system and by instituting the ideal form of government. This land belongs to us and to no one else, and its future rests solely on our participation in this overwhelming but absolutely necessary endeavor. Wake Up! Rise Up! Participate!

How The Bible Works

by Brian Malley, How The Bible Works Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download How The Bible Works books, What do evangelicals believe when they 'believe in the Bible?' Despite hundreds of English versions that differ in their texts, evangelicals continue to believe that there is a stable text--'the Bible'--which is the authoritative word of God and an essential guide to their everyday lives. To understand this phenomenon of evangelical Biblicism, anthropologist and biblical scholar Brian Malley looks not to the words of the Bible but to the Bible-believing communities. For as Malley demonstrates, it is less the meaning of the words of the Bible itself than how 'the Bible' provides a proper ground for beliefs that matters to evangelicals. Drawing on recent cognitive and social theory and extensive fieldwork in an evangelical church, Malley's book is an invaluable guide for seminarians, social scientists of religion, or for anyone who wants to understand just how the Bible works for American evangelicals.

Shared Reality

by E. Tory Higgins, Shared Reality Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Shared Reality books, What does it mean to be human? Why do we feel and behave in the ways that we do? The classic answer is that we have a special kind of intelligence. But to understand what we are as humans, we also need to know what we are like motivationally. And what is central to this story, what is special about human motivation, is that humans want to share with others their inner experiences about the world--share how they feel, what they believe, and what they want to happen in the future. They want to create a shared reality with others. People have a shared reality together when they experience having in common a feeling about something, a belief about something, or a concern about something. They feel connected to another person or group by knowing that this person or group sees the world the same way that they do--they share what is real about the world. In this work, Dr. Higgins describes how our human motivation for shared reality evolved in our species, and how it develops in our children as shared feelings, shared practices, and shared goals and roles. Shared reality is crucial to what we believe--sharing is believing. It is central to our sense of self, what we strive for and how we strive. It is basic to how we get along with others. It brings us together in fellowship and companionship, but it also tears us apart by creating in-group "bubbles" that conflict with one another. Our shared realities are the best of us, and the worst of us.

Understanding The Life Course

by Lorraine Green, Understanding The Life Course Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Understanding The Life Course books, Understanding the Life Course provides a uniquely comprehensive guide to understanding the entire life course from an interdisciplinary perspective. Combining the important insights sociology and psychology have to bring to the study of the life course, the book presents the concept's theoretical underpinnings in an accessible style, supported by real-life examples. What do reality TV shows such as Supernanny really tell us about child development? Are teenage rebellions and midlife crises written into our DNA? Does being a grandparent - or even a great-grandparent - equate to being old? This book encourages readers to think about these questions by highlighting the many different ways the life course can be interpreted, including themes of linearity and multi-directionality, continuity and discontinuity, and the interplay between nature and nurture, or genetics and culture. From birth and becoming a parent, to death and grieving for the loss of others, key research studies and theories are introduced, and their contemporary relevance and validity discussed. All stages of the life course are considered in conjunction with issues of social inequality (such as social class, race/ethnicity and gender) and critical examination of lay viewpoints. The book's comprehensive coverage of the life course counters the limitations of working with a certain group or age category in isolation, and its interdisciplinary focus recognizes the centrality of working in and across multi-professional teams and organizations. It will be essential reading for students on vocational programmes in social work, the allied health professions, nursing and education, and will provide thought-provoking insight into the wider contexts of the life course for students of psychology and sociology.
