Art Therapy And Anger

by Marian Liebmann, Art Therapy And Anger Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Art Therapy And Anger books, Professionals working in a range of clinical settings are regularly called upon to work with angry clients, and they may find their skills and resources for working with this powerful emotion limited. Art Therapy and Anger demonstrates how the non-verbal medium of art therapy provides an ideal outlet for the expression of thoughts and feelings that are too complex and painful to put into words, presenting a new and practical approach to dealing with this area of need. Marian Liebmann argues that clients of all ages will benefit from the art-making process, which helps them to slow down and consider their emotions more calmly. The tangible product of their efforts allows clients to assess and react to what they have depicted, providing a lucid and safe framework for better understanding the causes and effects of their anger. This book draws together contributions from art therapists who work in a wide variety of contexts, including work with offenders, mental health clients, clients with brain injury and those with cancer, with the view of helping clients to manage their anger more constructively. This positive, practical volume will be of great interest to art therapists and students, as well as practitioners working with angry clients in various fields such as mental health, probation, counselling and medicine.

Art And Anger

by I. Stavans, Art And Anger Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Art And Anger books, Fascinated by the idea of Western civilization as being a sequence of numerous misinterpretations and misrepresentations, these nineteen essays cover a broad range of topics with the unifying theme being the crossroads where politics and the imagination meet. An essay on linguistics and culture discusses the shaping of Latin America's collective identity; Peru's modern history is approached as a bloody battle between enlightenment and darkness; and in critiques of Octavio Paz and Gabriel García Márquez, Stavans reflects on the dichotomy between pen and sword in the Hispanic world. In 'Letter to a German Friend', Stavans returns to his fate as a Jew in the Southern Hemisphere, and in 'The First Book,' he connects his passion for literature to his initiation into Jewishness. Finally, in a meditation on Columbus's afterlife, he reflects on the many ways in which we reinvent ourselves in order to make sense of the chaotic world that surrounds us.

by Jennifer Guest, The Cbt Art Workbook For Managing Anger Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download The Cbt Art Workbook For Managing Anger books, Using the principles of CBT, these illustrated worksheets help clients to understand and manage their anger and associated issues. The activities follow the framework of a typical CBT course: how it works, looking at the nature of anger, linking thoughts, feelings, behaviour and physiology cycles, exploring different levels of thinking and beliefs, and identifying goals and future planning. It presents these theories in an accessible way so that clients are familiar with the foundations of CBT they will be using in the worksheets. They can complete them by writing or drawing, alongside the opportunity to colour in parts of the pages as they consider ideas. Suitable for adults in individual or group work, this is an excellent resource to use as a standalone resource or in conjunction with professional therapy to deal with anger issues.

Painting In Anger

by Delia Lara, Painting In Anger Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Painting In Anger books, At age 43, I started doing art expressions, a form of art I had not done before. Priorly, I had graduated from art school and had painted over 300 paintings. I painted portraits, landscapes, animals, flowers, etc., and always, I tried to paint realistically. But my expressions were nowhere like my realistic paintings. They were rough, sketchy, and seemingly unreal. I drew them instinctively with a pencil, and kept notes because this was all new to me and I wanted to remember, as the expressions had more to do with my daily living and my emotions than with my enjoyment and drive in painting. After one year I ended with 100 art expressions that came as the greatest revelation. They gave me a wealth of knowledge about expressionism I did not learn in art college, and they opened insights about myself. I had to pass this amazing experience to others.Seven years later, I turned the rough expressions into finished acrylic paintings and started writing this book. As the expressions and the writing unfold, they tell a story of my dysfunctional marriage with four children.Because I did the expressions on a more or less daily basis, this book is written in diary fashion making it unique and like no other. Anger Revolution And Romanticism

by Andrew M. Stauffer, Anger Revolution And Romanticism Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Anger Revolution And Romanticism books, The Romantic age was one of anger and its consequences: revolution and reaction, terror and war. Andrew M. Stauffer explores the changing place of anger in the literature and culture of the period, as English men and women rethought their relationship to the aggressive passions in the wake of the French Revolution. Drawing on diverse fields and discourses such as aesthetics, politics, medicine and the law and tracing the classical legacy the Romantics inherited, Stauffer charts the period's struggle to define the relationship of anger to justice and the creative self. In their poetry and prose, Romantic authors including Blake, Coleridge, Godwin, Shelley and Byron negotiate the meanings of indignation and rage amidst a clamourous debate over the place of anger in art and in civil society. This innovative book has much to contribute to the understanding of Romantic literature and the cultural history of the emotions.
